June ’24 // everybody chill, summer slammerz
Inside this momentous pack you will discover exactly what you need to survive the heat! A mix of all of the hues from a zippy white, mouth watering rosé, and two chillable reds!
Yes you heard me. Chillable reds! These wines all go great with food but are also smash-able on their own. Don’t spend the money on a plane ticket when we can take around the world in a glass or 3.
Benjamin Taillandier
The Juice: Benjamin Taillandier is an unassuming man. His winery, and vineyards, are unassuming too. As is his start in the wine world, which might be the most unassuming part of this whole story. Benjamin came from a family with no history of winemaking, attended (and graduated) from winemaking school and worked brief stints at a few French wineries before settling in Caunes-Minervois to make wine under his own name. His story doesn't conjure any fantasies about grands chateaux or prestigious appellations. It is, however, much more direct and relatable. And it is the very essence of why Benjamin's wines are so damn good. Grape(s): Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Arman
2023 ‘Six Roses’ Rosé | vdf France
In terms of notes think: This is a fruit punch of a wine, with freshly crushed strawberries, ripe raspberries, orange zest, orange blossom florality and the tangy, sort-of-cranberry flavour of goji berry.
Federico Mencaroni
The Juice: Cantina Mencaroni (Mencaroni’s Winery) mostly grows and processes white grapes, including Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi – the most important vines of Le Marche – and Malvasia or Biancame. But we also grow and process red grapes, including Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and of course La Crima.
Federico prunes their vines short and then thins them out in order to control and limit the amount of grapes we produce. With organic farming they try to maintain their grapes as natural as possible, so that they can fully develop all of their sensory aromas!
2021 La Crima di Morro d’Alba DOP | Italy
In terms of tasting notes think: Violet, Blackberries, and savoury herbs like Marjoram and Tarragon. Persistent finish of freshness and spice. A super playful summer-y red that's great with a bit of a chill.
Be well and keep quenching that
thirst for wine and life!
